Just thought I would write some of my thoughts as we are gettin ready to play our last pre-season game.
I feel the Coaching Staff has have the best off season possible for us.
First not getting Lance "I leave the scene" Briggs. Rocky is the shit and he is young and hungry. Some times when we pay people big money they loose the hunger.
second, gettin L. Landry in the draft, what a beast!
third....SMOOOOOOOOOT
4th, letting Portis sit most of pre-season!
5th, admitting that Tode Wade was not gonna work and gettin some who can do the job.
I feel the Coaches are hittin on all cylinders right now and I hope that reflects in wins to start the season off.

along those same lines, CBS Sports line reports: "Washington's coaching staff will take a close look at the backup safeties, where Omar Stoutmire, Vernon Fox and Reed Doughty are competing for a roster spot" www.sportsline.com/nfl/gamecenter/preview/NFL_20070830_WAS@JACWho would you like to see make the team? Its a hard call for me but I say keep the young guy Reed.

I definitely agree with all of your points I just hope that letting go of Lemar and Salave'a won't come back to bite us in the ass. Blades has looked good but he is still a rookie and if Griffin can't stay healthy, which he hasn't done in a while, then we only have Golston and Montgomery at tackle and that could hurt us down the road

I agree with what the coaching staff is doing this year. They seem to really be pushing for youth on the team, as opposed to letting guys get old rot and die. Like the Salevae'a thing. Big Joe was a fan favorite and hard worker. But in business you can't play favorites, you have to play the individuals who make the whole team better. And when you can do that, and make the team younger, it really doesn't get much better than that. He had a tough time staying healthy, and I was surprised to see him go. But I think that is a strong statement coming from our coaches. When you consider how much they prefer veterans over younger players, for them to let a valuable veteran go, in favor of younger fresher talent must mean they really see something in these guys.
Our LBs are beasts! All of them, even the second and third stringers (H.B. Blade, Dallas Sartz etc.). Rocky is really making me happy that we traded up to get him. London is absolutely sickening out there. The man's motor never shuts off.
Laron has impressed me, the guy is everywhere, he's made me a believer. Our secondary is just gross right now. Carlos is stepping his game up, which is nice to see.
As far as backup safeties, I like Doughty, also Vernon Fox, he did an alright job for being thrust into the starting lineup after AA looked like he forgot how football was supposed to be played. Sucks that we can only keep one. I think if I had to choose between Reed and Vernon, I'd go with Vernon.

I too love our LBs.
Maybe we can keep two of those safties, but we need to cut 22 people by next week.
